Alain Rothstein, Principal, joined Kline Hawkes in 2000.  Mr. Rothstein began his career with Interlaken Capital, Inc., a middle market buyout firm in Greenwich, CT.  While at Interlaken, Mr. Rothstein worked on investments in a variety of industries, including specialty chemical manufacturing, financial services and outsourcing services.  Selected investments include: Master Protection Corporation, Strategic Distribution (Nasdaq: STRD) and First Marblehead (NYSE: FMD).  Mr. Rothstein currently focuses on a broad range of investment opportunities including logistics, healthcare and environmental services companies.  Selected current and past board seats and board observer positions include CaseStack, Rayne Corporation, IPMobileNet, Certus Corporation and American WholeHealth.  Mr. Rothstein is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Los Angeles as well as a volunteer and committee chair for Chrysalis (www.changelives.org).  In 2002, he co-founded the Southern California Association of Private Equity Investors (“SCAPE”), a network of private equity professionals from over 32 local firms ranging from venture capital firms to large buyout funds.  He is a frequent lecturer and panelist on the subject of private equity.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
