Cameron Wood, Director of Operations, has been with Kline Hawkes & Co. since 1997. As Director of Operations Mr. Wood’s main responsibility is that of gatekeeper for new investment opportunities. In that role Mr. Wood sources and screens new potential investments and manages Kline Hawkes’ investment database, reviewing in excess of 500 business plans a year. Mr. Wood’s role as director also involves the screening and initial recruitment of new employees and oversees the firm’s communications infrastructure. As a published author Mr. Wood writes the firm’s annual newsletter and maintains Kline Hawkes’ website. Prior to joining Kline Hawkes & Co. Mr. Wood worked in New York as a freelance producer, director and creative developer for film and television. Mr. Wood helped produce a variety of award winning documentaries, news, special events, and game shows - primarily for the Japanese market. In Australia Mr. Wood gained valuable operations experience while working for his family’s wholesale bedding plant nursery, Scotsburn Nurseries, where he was the VP of Sales. Mr. Wood is a current member of the National Venture Capital Association and the Los Angeles Venture Association. Mr. Wood has lectured or served as a panelist for numerous events and institutions including the Price Center for Entrepreneurial studies at UCLA Anderson, the California College of the Arts, the Inland Empire Venture Forum, and First Private Bank & Trust's Business Services Forum. Mr. Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia and graduated from the Executive Program at the Anderson School of Management, UCLA in 2007.
